Oil Field Logistics Guide
Logistics is the continuity between pump, buffer and buyer. Diagnose where material or crude waits, then add the smallest storage, route or transport change that removes the wait; train functionality remains unverified even though an official screenshot shows rail infrastructure.

Quick facts
- Assignment belongs to a specific Derrick.
- Passing another rig should no longer cause cross-rig interaction.
- Construction demand determines whether the sale fallback applies.
- With no ore demand, automatic sale is intentional.
- Additional placement spots were added.
- Exact counts and coordinates are not published.
- Silos and tanker sales are verified expanded-demo logistics systems.
- The in-game map supports route planning.
- Oil-barrel achievement goals are 1, 50, 100, 500 and 1,000 completed sales; ore sales are a different resource.
Current-build changes: 1.0.1
Barrels now keep a specific Derrick assignment rather than interacting with other Derricks they pass. If a barrel appears to head toward the wrong rig, first confirm you are running 1.0.1, then follow that single barrel from its assigned rig to its destination. The patch fixes cross-rig interaction; it does not publish a new sales price or transport speed. The Iron Mine drone now takes Metal Ore for sale when no construction site needs it. Seeing ore leave the mine for a sale destination can therefore be expected behavior in 1.0.1. Before treating a sale as a missing delivery, check every active construction request. The official note describes the fallback condition, not a configurable sale priority menu. Patch 1.0.1 adds more machine placement spots, giving production layouts additional options. It does not announce free placement everywhere or an exact count of new locations. Revisit the build menu and preview a candidate position before hauling resources. Preserve a clear servicing and transport route instead of filling every new spot just because construction is available.
Walkthrough
- 01
Read the field
Trace one unit from production through storage to confirmed sale.
- 02
Stabilize the bottleneck
Mark the exact point where it waits, fills, disconnects or requires player action.
- 03
Record the result
Change one buffer, route or pickup decision and run the same path again.
- 04
Choose the next move
Treat trains as Not verified yet until the current build exposes an unlock and interaction.

Common mistakes
- Applying pre-patch advice to barrel routing after patch 1.0.1 without comparing the corrected behavior.
- Applying pre-patch advice to iron mine drone automatic selling without comparing the corrected behavior.
- Applying pre-patch advice to machine placement and production layouts without comparing the corrected behavior.
- Treating an editorial troubleshooting step as an officially tested workaround.
Current context: patch 1.0.1. Historical demo mechanics remain qualified; check the source ledger before treating them as current-build behavior.
